This past Fall, Megafaun the mountainous pilgrimage to Asheville, NC, and to the Moog Sound Lab.

Hip Hatchet: Coward's Luck

hiphatchet:

We released this single today. The quick and positive response has been very touching. Just wanted to thank tim, alex, and jake, for working so swiftly on this project. I literally decided to record this EP this week and they cleared their schedules and made it happen with me. Hopefully y’all will…

Ultimately, I know what I’m doing and why I’m doing it. I’m trying to be a construction worker. I’m trying to make things. If people are not interested in that, fine. I just don’t give a damn. Truth is, right now two bombs could drop out of the sky and blow up this house and whatever building you’re in and just obliterate Dischord and Pitchfork. And there’ll be some people crying, there’ll be some slow singing, but for 99% of the world, it won’t even affect the fly on their soup. Most of the world never have, or ever will hear of me, Fugazi, or Pitchfork. Right now, someone just got killed in Ukraine. Do you feel any different?

These are the covers of this week’s Time Magazines, from around the world.  Wow.  Yay, America!  Let’s stay in denial!  It’s good we are all feeling anxious!  Let’s go shopping!  That will help!

Feeling immensely disillusioned by the “American Dream”, we wrote this song back in June. It’s interesting to now see all the voices being heard at Occupy Wall St., Occupy Boston, and all the protests around the country relaying a similar sentiment. Glad to know we’re not alone. Here’s to a brighter future that represents all of our best interests, not just the privileged few. As John Lennon said, “You won’t get it unless you want it…we can get it tomorrow, or today.”

Testimony of the UC Berkeley students who were beaten by police, and who are now filing a lawsuit against the school. The woman at 2:40 tells a story that is heartwrenching - she shows more dignity and more compassion than I have seen from a single republican member of Congress in the past 10 years.
